I was very pleased to see the GMB supported by Unite calling on ACAS to play a role in the very serious industrial dispute in RCT. The story is on the BBC website here. It is very important that these issues are resolved as soon as possible - I can only imagine how workers in RCT must be feeling facing Christmas the uncertainty of cuts hanging over them.
While I think involving ACAS would be a very good move, I was very surprised to see a letter from Labour's AMs and MPs in the area backing the Council in a letter published in the Leader and Observer. The one omission from the letter was Ann Clwyd MP. I wonder what her position on the dispute is?
